I have been experimenting with cutting paper. At first I cut by hand, but then decided to use the laser cutter for better result. I cut thin slices in different patterns, which when bent create organic 3D shapes. The floating shapes created by the bent paper have an airy quality. People are also interested in interacting with them and creating their own shapes.

An unexpected result of the cutting process is the transparency effect that comes from the thin slices of paper right next to each other. The effect is that of a very thin curtain: the paper gets textile-like qualities.

Another interesting feature is how the thin strips of paper react to wind and movement: they start to flutter when someone passes by, which looks mesmerizing.
